DirOrganizer Support - Your Guide to Efficient File Management

To add a directory in DirOrganizer, navigate to the 'Add Directory' option and select the directory you want to add. Once added, DirOrganizer will scan all the files in the directory. It only scans the top level and will not delve into subdirectories. It follows three rules:
  1. Existing directories are left untouched unless they are empty.
  2. If "Remove empty directories" is enabled, it will remove empty directories at the top level only.
  3. It will never move an existing directory. It only moves files that it recognizes by extension.
When DirOrganizer finds files it recognizes from its "extensions.txt" file, it will move them to the group that the file has been set to be grouped beneath.
DirOrganizer offers a 7-day trial period where you can use all features without any restrictions. After the trial period, you can register to continue using DirOrganizer without any limitations.
The "Downloads to keep unsorted" feature allows you to specify a number of your most recent downloads to remain unsorted in your download folder. This helps in managing your downloads as it could be confusing if your downloads get sorted into different folders immediately after downloading. This feature only applies to directories where the name, or part of the name, contains "download".
The "extensions.txt" file is located in the DirOrganizer's home directory. It contains the file extensions that DirOrganizer recognizes. Each line in the file is formatted as "Group: .Extension, .AnotherExtension...". You can add new groups or extensions as needed, but be careful not to assign the same extension to multiple groups. The file format, including spaces, must be maintained.
When the "Remove Empty Directories" feature is enabled, DirOrganizer will scan the topmost directory (the one you select to appear in the ListBox) for empty directories. If a directory is completely empty, it will be removed. Please note that this feature only applies to the topmost directory and not to any subdirectories.
When the "Prevent sorting system folders" feature is enabled, DirOrganizer will not process files found in the following system folders: Windows, Program Files, Program Files (x86), Programdata, and Appdata. However, you can still add paths beneath these system folders, they will just not do anything as long as the option is checked. DirOrganizer will process files that are not in the system folders. So your other paths will still work.
Once you've completed your payment, our server receives the payment status and processes it accordingly. If your payment is successful, an ID is generated for you, and you'll receive a serial number via email. In case of a payment error, you'll be notified as well.
After a successful payment, we'll send you an email containing your unique serial number. This email may take a few minutes to arrive. If you don't receive your email after an hour, please check your spam folder. If it's not there, please contact us.
After your trial period, if you've decided to register and received the serial number, open your DirOrganizer application. Click on 'Register' and enter the serial number provided. This will remove the time restriction, upgrade your account to premium and allow you unlimited access to all the features.
You can reach our support team by sending an email to support@dirorganizer.com. Our dedicated team will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.
